My University of Nebraska-Lincoln B.A. degree is in Great Plains
Studies, received in December, 2003. My main focus was on
regional history and literature; course work included regional
geography, ecology, and my main focuses, history and literature.
Examples of research projects include Lincoln's Burlington
depots, Lincoln and Northeast high schools, the former Cotner
University, early United States patriotism, and Lincoln
annexations. I am working on comparing Nebraska's 1895 football
history to a football story by Willa Cather. I have used the
Historical Society collections, the newspaper microfilm, maps,
computer markup, and contacted alumni. I presently work at the
University library.
